Of course! The italic is my way of personifying the more destructive thoughts that I allowed to control me for so long. When I began to realize that so many of those around me also heard these things within themselves, I felt compelled to shine a light on it.
I suppose it's my way of exposing it for what it is and giving the power to Jesus.
If anyone can read this and find it's voice familiar-- maybe they can also have that "ah-ha!" moment of realizing that, that voice is a liar.
And just like in the poem it may feel like you're straining to pray that prayer, but personally, before the words even left me-- He was already there ~
Wowโฆ I just love it Jasmine! I could hear the voice change in your recording too! Wow!! I know people will be able to relate! I love how you ended with Jesus and hope!!!! Bravo Jasmine!!! This is just great!
Ahhh Jasmine, you are a wonderful writer! Tell me more... if you feel comfortable... about the words in italic. Sending love, Ash
